Many activities planned for National Library Week at Churdan library

The Churdan public library has many fun things planned for National Library Week, April 3-9. The week starts with a “Sound of Music” movie sing-along on Sunday, April 3, at 2 pm. The library will furnish popcorn, a “mix-in candy” bar and lemonade. Please feel free to bring a snack to share and your beverage if you don’t want lemonade.

On Tuesday, April 5, at 10:30 am the Walk Group will begin walking for the season, weather permitting. This year we will track our milage and see how far we travel. Wheel of Refusal will be an afterschool program, providing tips to the young people about how to say no to smoking and vaping. The program will start at 3:30 for all children of school age.

Wednesday, April 6, we will host the drive through “Toddle Toddler Fest” from 9 to 11 am. This event is sponsored by the Greene County Library Association and the Greene County supervisors. We will also have preschool story time at 9:30 am for toddlers and 10 am for preschoolers.

Thursday, April 7, at 6:30 pm we will experiment with a charcuterie board and mock-tail workshop. Please pre-register by Monday, April 4, by calling the library at 515-389-3423, so that we will have plenty of supplies.  Please feel free to bring an ‘ingredient or two” to share with the group.

A puzzle exchange, bring one-take one, and a book sale will be held all week.
